Terms and conditions
1. Booking Conditions
Please read the following Booking Conditions carefully. These conditions apply to all bookings that you will make through this web site. We will ask you to confirm that you have read and understood these conditions before you make your booking.
2. Rates
Please note: Rates quoted on this website are not valid during Conferences, Exhibitions or Special Events. In the event of group bookings, where special rates may apply , please contact our reservations department at reservations@rhodesholidays.net.
3. Your Contract with accommodation featured on this website
When you book accommodation through www.rhodosdirect.com, we will send you an e-mail confirmation of your booking and it is at this time that a binding contract comes into existence. The date of the contract is the date that appears on the confirmation. The contract is subject to these booking conditions. All booking conditions will apply including cancellation charges (listed below). Once the contract is made, the accommodation provider is responsible to you to provide you with what you have booked and you are responsible to pay for it, in each case subject to these booking conditions, and any other terms and conditions specific to the relevant accommodation provider. Please note: It is important to check carefully the details of your booking when you receive it and inform us immediately of any irregularities. If you want to cancel or change your booking later, you may have to pay amendment or cancellation charges (listed below) which may be as much as the whole accommodation cost. In parties of two or more people, the person who makes the booking (the lead name), accepts responsibility for making all payments to us for all members of the party. We will send all confirmations and vouchers and other information to that person who will in turn be responsible for ensuring that the other members of the party are kept fully informed. Should you wish to make an amendment or cancel your booking, we must receive confirmation by e-mail from the lead name. We will only accept confirmation from the lead name. If you are aged under 18 on the date of arrival and your parents or guardians are not travelling with you, they must write to us with their written consent.
4. Your Holiday Insurance.
We strongly recommend you arrange adequate holiday insurance which should cover the cost of cancellation by you, personal liability claims, all medical costs plus the cost of assistance including repatriation to your country of origin in the event of an accident or illness. Please note: credit card insurance cover is rarely adequate for holiday bookings.
5. Payments.
Full payment is required at the time of booking. The system will instantly provide you with a booking confirmation voucher which guarentees your booking.
If you book less than (7 days) 1 week before arrival, the reservation must be confirmed by us in writing before any action can be taken.
Payment may be made by any major credit or debit card. We use sophisticated technology to secure your credit card details.
Payment for incidental extras (e.g. mini bars, telephone charges etc.) must be made directly to the accommodation provider when you check out. In some instances charges, such as for air conditioning must be paid in advance. Please note: No payment should be made directly to the accommodation provider other than those mentioned above.
6. Special requests
If you have any special requests that do not form part of the standard accommodation services as described on this website (for example dietary requirements, cots or room location) please let us knows at the time of booking. We will pass on all such requests to the relevant accommodation provider, but unfortunately cannot guarantee that they will be met. Further, if the accommodation provider is unable to meet such requests, neither we nor they can have any liability to you in this respect.
7. If you wish to make changes to your accommodation booking.
If you want to change any details of your booking after we have sent your confirmation, we will do our best to help. However, the accommodation provider has no obligation to make any change, although it will permit you or any member of your party who is prevented from travelling to transfer the booking to someone else, provided you give us reasonable notice of the transfer (see conditions below). The lead name must confirm any change to us by e-mail. If the accommodation provider is able to make the change, there will be a www.rhodosdirect.com administration charge of €15 in addition to potential charges from the accommodation provider, subject to their individual terms and conditions.
If you wish to make any change to your booking while on holiday (e.g. upgrading accommodation or extending your stay), all requests are subject to availability and any extra cost must be paid immediately .
8. If you cancel your Hotel Booking.
The accommodation provider starts to incur costs for your booking from the time it is confirmed. The closer it is to the time of your planned holiday, the less likely they are to re-sell it. Therefore, if you cancel or amend your booking, a charge has to made and the later the cancellation, the more that charge will be. If you wish to cancel a confirmed booking, this must be done by e-mail by the (lead name). Cancellation charges will then be calculated as set out in the table below and will be notified to you by invoice within two weeks of cancellation.
Please note : the amendment charges below are only valid if your booking does not require change of hotel (i.e. you are staying at the same hotel and wish to change the room type, board basis, date, duration or number of guests). If you wish to change to another hotel, please e-mail our administration team at reservations@rhodesholidays.net who will confirm the new cost to you. This will be considered as cancellation and a new booking will be made.

If you change the number of people booked, the accommodation price will be re-calculated for the new party size. If for example your party is reduced in number, this may mean that accommodation is under-occupied and each of the remainder of your party may have to pay more.
No refunds can be given for stays that are ended earlier than planned.
9. If we have to change or cancel your booking.
It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your accommodation arrangements; however, we act only as third party on behalf of the accommodation providers and in the unlikely event that the accommodation is fully booked or unavailable we will contact you as soon as possible before your departure. We will try to provide you with similar accommodation of equal standard. If we are unable to do this or you prefer not to accept the alternative accommodation, you may cancel free of charge.
If the accommodation provider makes a change to your booking, we will inform you as soon as possible, but will have no liability towards you.
10. Our responsibility to you for your Booking.
Because we are acting only as a booking agent we have no liability for any of the accommodation arrangements (including any shortcomings or defects with or in any accommodation) and in particular no liability for any illness, personal injury, death , damage or loss of any kind, unless caused by our negligence. Any claim for damages for injury, illness or death arising from your stay in the accommodation, must be brought against the owner of the accommodation and will be under the jurisdiction of the Greek law governing that accommodation.
We will also endeavour to ensure that any special requests you may make e.g. non-smoking specifications will be fulfilled but cannot guarantee such requests. Equally we are not responsible for any specific criteria laid down by accommodation providers and unbeknown to us.( for example no smoking in rooms etc)
11. Passports and Visas
You must carry a valid passport and have obtained the appropriate visas when travelling from countries outside the EU.
12. Star Ratings
As there are no standard methods for rating hotel and apartment accommodation throughout the world we cannot accept liability for any misconception of the ratings of accommodation on this website.
13. Force Majeure
We regret that we cannot accept liability or pay compensation for any damage or loss suffered by you as a result of “force Majeure”. In these booking conditions “force majeure means any event which we or the provider of accommodation could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events might include war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, actual or threatened terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and any similar events outside of our control.
14. Complaints Procedure
If you have a complaint while you are staying at the accommodation in question, you must inform the accommodation management immediately and before leaving Greece, in order to give them the chance to resolve the problem. You may lose any right to compensation, if you fail to do so. If the issue is not resolved to your satisfaction, you should contact our Rhodos Direct office in Pefkos either personally or by telephone, 0030 22440 48268. We have staff who will assist and advise you. We will act as an intermediary to try and rectify the problem. In the event that we are unable to do so, and you wish to take matters further, you must do so directly with the accommodation provider concerned.
15. Indemnity
When you book accommodation through www.rhodosdirect.com, you accept responsibility for the proper conduct of yourself and your party during your stay. The accommodation provider reserves the right at any time to terminate (before or after departure?) your holiday or that of any member of your party due to your or their misconduct, within their reasonable opinion. Full cancellation charges will then apply and no refund will be given. Furthermore, the accommodation owner shall be under no obligation whatsoever to pay compensation or meet any costs or expenses you may occur as a result of us terminating your booking, in accordance with this paragraph. If your actions or those of any member of your party cause damage to the accommodation in which you are staying, you agree to fully indemnify us against any claim (including legal costs) made against the accommodation owner. Finally, you are also liable to make a reimbursement to the accommodation provider for any damage caused, before you end your stay.
16. Room Allocation
After registration, on arrival at your accommodation, you will be allocated a room. Please note: when travelling on flights departing your country after midnight, your room will be reserved from the previous day. You must therefore, normally check out of your room by 12 noon on the day before a night flight home or on the departure for an evening flight – in some cases, depending on availability, the owners will accept a late checkout at an extra cost. |
