Turkey by night
Please do not forget your passport on this trip – you will not be able to travel!
Leaving resort, our air-conditioned coach takes the road along the east coast of Rhodes to join the catamaran at the commercial harbour in Rhodes Town. The catamaran journey to the bustling Turkish port of Marmaris will take around 50 minutes. Before you leave the catamaran, you will be told by our escort at what time you need to be back on board for the return journey to Rhodes.

After disembarking in Marmaris, you pass through Turkish immigration control. Our group will then be met by a professional Turkish guide who will take us to our first stop, one of the largest gold centres in Marmaris. After a brief stop its onto the bazaar. Once we reach the bazaar, we will walk together to what will serve as the meeting point for the day.
We then spend a short time learning a few basic facts and principles about the bazaar and how to spot the best bargains!! This will ensure that you get the most from the day. Then you are free to do whatever you choose for 2-21/2 hours before we meet up to go to the restaurant for the evenings entertainment and meal. This will be at approximately at 19.30.
After your evenings entertainment we will board the coach and return to the harbour.
If you are shopping in the bazaar, don’t forget to haggle – it is expected of you. Great bargains can be had in leather goods, gold and carpets, and there are many “designer “
Items (which are of course copies) at good prices. If you fancy something other than shopping there is an impressive castle museum to be viewed, Turkish baths to be enjoyed and a nearby beach where you may relax.
Once you have passed through customs in Rhodes harbour, our escort will take you back to our coach for your return journey to resort.
Please note that credit cards and most currencies are accepted in Marmaris – it is not necessary to exchange any money into Turkish Lira and if you do so, you will not be able to change this back into euros in Rhodes.
Duty free allowances per person: 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars, 1 litre spirits, 1 litre wine plus a reasonable amount of other goods for your own use. |
